Has anyone found another type of external battery pack to use with Armasight thermals ? The Armasight packs are outrageously expensive ($300). Armasight advises me that they require 5.5 vdc - 6.2 vdc to run their products so a standard USB pack will not work as it only supplies 5.0 vdc. I have not tried one of the USB packs as of yet to verify but was wondering if anyone else has tried one.

Sportsmansguide now sells them for a fairly normal $249. If you are a buyer's club member you get 10% off that and they just recently had a coupon for an additional 10% off and free shipping. Got it for $203 out the door. Still pretty ridiculous for a couple of 18650 batters and a holder but still the best price I've ever seen. Kinda hoping to acquire the stupidly priced laser range finder module in the same way.

I did a lot of research on the DIY battery packs. The biggest challenge is finding a battery holder that isn't a 50 cent piece of shit. Fenix used to sell a twin battery holder for it's bicycle mounted flashlight which was perfect but they don't sell it separately any more citing supply issues.

I'd check UNV as well. I picked up one for my thermal recently and they had a bunch of rechargeable items. I don't own an Armasight so I'm not familiar with what you need but here's the link to their Power Supplies page. UNV Link Power Supplies

I had seen the SG deal and have decided to go with that if I cannot find an alternative method. As stated, still a steep price for what it is...thanks
