I finally bit the bullet and got a IR Hunter MKII. The thing is built like a tank. Here's my problem or at least it sure seems like a problem to me!
I also have a Pulsar HD19S spotter that I've been using for about 3 years. Love the thing! Anyway........I've been out twice with the MKII and also had the Pulsar along. On both outings the View through the Pulsar is at the least on par with the MKII or maybe even slightly better. I've played with the setting every which way I can but the little ol' Pulsar stays with it or surpasses it. The conditions are what I would call favorable for thermals. Temps around 75-80 with 50-55% humidity. I know this is a very vague question with multitudes of possible answers but do any of you have any suggestions? I don't have a MDVR yet so can't post videos. That is in the near future. Thank you all for any and all help and advise. |

The first three menus have adjustments that can really make big improvements, but the first thing you
gotta do is adjust the ocular using the ring at the eyepiece. Then make adjustments from the menu, you'll notice that adjusting contrast may cause you to have to go back and re-adjust focus, adjusting brightness can effect contrast, and so on and on, there's so many variables, best thing is to just sit with the unit and tinker around with it. Took me a half dozen trips with mine before I kinda figured out how to optimize the view. Good Luck |

Good Luck +1, also for example here in Texas on a hot humid night I use a particular set of adjustments for visual versus when's it is cool and on the drier side of the humidity here |

To sum up, I've come to the conclusion that I need to upgrade to the 35mm unit for my type of hunting. The 19mm just doesn't have the range I need. With that said, I did manage a couple of 200 yard kills last night with the zoom turned up to 4x. So, more money will get me where I need to be. Seems to be a reacurring theme in the NV game! Well, there ya go! Thermal is the tits |
