I'm a Lieutenant over my agencies Special Operations Units (K-9, TAC, Aviation, Marine, Traffic) as well as one of the two SWAT Commanders. We have a 20-man team and a 4-man Sniper/Observer Team.

Entry team members are issued Colt Commandos, Aimpoint M4's, and PVS-14's. Snipers have Rem 700 LTR rifles. We need to get aiming lasers for the Commandos to get the Entry Team better suited for shooting with NV.

I've been successful in getting the Administration to get us two new NV Scopes and two new Rem 700's rifles come October 1st when our budget funds are available so I'm making great strides getting better gear.

Any company allow T&E of aiming lasers? Any advice is welcome reference the topic. TNVC was GREAT in helping us decide on NV rifle scopes so I hope they can step in. I called them and they should be responding shortly I'm sure.

I'd like to get at least 10 units to start... not sure if they will spring for 20 all at once, but you never know...

As you know we have a facility along with our Training Director Don Edwards in Florida. We also can get you some bailment lasers. We also have the new B.E. Meyers MAWL we are putting through it's paces that I am sure Don can set up a demo for that outstanding laser.

Can you IM me his contact information, I can't find it from earlier contact back in April I think it was. Had I known the possibility of getting more stuff, I'd have done a better job of saving it... my fault. I'd love to have someone attend one of our trainings.

For police use the DBAL A3 is pretty much perfect as they come in my opinon (LEO- Patrol).

The visible override function is great in that you can go immediately to white light green laser which is needed.... especially in LE with contact and cover teams.  My only bitch is that they (steiner) told me that the battery drain ive been getting is "normal". So it has to get turned off and on at the end of a shift....not real happy about that and its really shitty electronics design on their part.

My brother (also LEO but on a Tac team), their team runs atipals. Ill have to ask him what they think of them not sure if they are running full power or civilan power level.

The A4 or what not with the intergrated white light looks promising also.

Is the 1033 program (Military Surplus) available in FL? There was a bunch of NV items available when I did that sort of stuff at my agency.

I know Ed Wilcox, the owner of Wilcox Engineering used to assist agencys with the process. It might be worth looking into.

Thanks... never thought of that. A couple years ago we gave back about 60 M14 rifles...
