I've green lighted some Nods. Figured I'll stick with TNVC as they're familiar for me and site sponsors. This is what I have in the cart, what else am I missing? Also, that Omni is on sale slightly, but should I pay more for the enforcer or pinnacle? Is it better to pay more for a better mount? How do I verify mounts will work will the Exfil?
I have about 4k to put into this. Thanks in advance! Team Wendy EXFIL LTP Bump Helmet Wilcox L4 G11 Mount - ARMY TNV/PVS-14 L3 Gen3 OMNI VIII EOG Low Profile Counter Weight Short |

That is a solid set, will certainly not be disappointed. I don't think spec wise there is any reason to go with the Pinnacle. The L3 White Phosphor units tend to have higher specs, but that is a good $1000 more.
All mounts except a few from Norotos fit the LTP, plus aviation ball-detent style mounts. The ones from Norotos that don't fit use a different kind of helmet interface, as you have noticed it is usually rectangular, but the Norotos proprietary interface has six corners and is a lot smaller. That one won't fit without an adapter. Should you purchase a better mount? The G11 is a great mount and if you are not planning a bino setup anytime soon it will serve you very well. I find that for monoculars the standard J-arm (that is between the PVS-14 and the G11) works better than a more expensive dovetail arm (with a more expensive mount with it). |

No thats pretty good, the L3 is on sale which is always good & with L3 tubes, you have somewhat of a better chance of getting high specs since they seem to have been cranking out very nice tubes as of late. It's still a lottery, but people have been getting some great tubes from them and they have quieter PSU's. Its not a huge deal, but I love how quite my L3's are compared to my ITT tube One thing though? Ditch the bayonet mount & go straight to a dovetail setup. No matter what anyone tells you, its just better. The newer mounts, eh ok they may do a bit better job than the legacy rhino mounts, but dovetails just do it better. More surface area, more stability, a little less to worry about. Grab a norotos dual dovetail adapter & then pick a mount. *Edit* lol, as you can see, the issue of bayonet vs. dovetail is a highly subjective thing

Team Wendy EXFIL LTP Bump Helmet Wilcox L4 G11 Mount - ARMY TNV/PVS-14 L3 Gen3 OMNI VIII EOG Low Profile Counter Weight Short Thank you for the vote of confidence. Your load outs look good and as a few others have stated it's a personal choice with the mounts. Indeed like we say about Gen 3 is if you can afford it by all means get the Gen 3. You will also never be disappointed with the dovetail designs from either Wilcox's G24 or the Norotos's INVG's. As for the NOD's, our Omni 8 Mil Spec's are really some great tubes and we sell a lot of them for a reason. You chose well there also IMHO. An IR laser is a great addition and for budget minded we have our OTAL-C's (both IR and Vis. versions) on sale for $399.00 which cannot be beat for price and robustness. For helmet accessories, I wear a Surefire V1 on the left side of my TW helmet and MPLS Pro on the right side RED/BLUE/IR LED's. Hope this helps a bit more. |

Aiming without an LAM is pretty tough with NOD. You'll want one pretty soon, IMHO.
OTAL-C IR would fit the bill and it's on sale for pretty cheap at TNVC right now. I think you should pass on any other accessories (helmet light stuff) and grab that laser. The Surefire light with filter won't be amazing, but it WILL do the trick. Later on, you can grab an IR flag or 2, an IR strobe (I bought the $30 one from TNVC) and ancillary helmet lights. |
