Could somebody who has as i2 unit please measure it's height from the top of the picatinny rail to the top of the housing? Without a bunch of replacement parts or a new rail, I'm concerned about my optical scope field of view being partially occluded if the DBAL is too tall. Thanks for your help.

Quoted: What glass you running? It shouldn't be an issue. Anything 4X or higher you can barely even see a front sight base unless you're actually looking for it. Hell most of the mil runs a 4X ACOG, FSB, and PEQ-15. And the front sight base is much taller than a dbal. I'm running a 4-14x50 IOR Valdada optical scope in a Larue SPR-E LT139 or an IR Defense MkII Hunter (interchangeably) - and given the measurements I have for the i2 it looks like it would block up to almost half of the field of view of the 4-14 optical. The front sight base thing is something I considered, but I'm unclear on exactly how much of the field of view can be blocked before image degradation rears it's ugly head. Thanks for the brain-trust. |
