| I posted a while back that my m646 tube was possibly bad and it turned out to be so. Had Ed Wilcox check it out and replace the defective tube. Ed seems to be 1st class and he done exactly what he said he would do. I'm very pleased with the service I received. Now what to do with my old defective tube? |

| I'm glad you got your scope fixed! Ed is the man, as you know. As for your old tube, you have two options. You can send it to a place like American Electro-Optics (AEO) to have the tube tested to see if it's failure was a result of a power supply issue; if it was they can replace the power supply for about $500. Or you can sell it as a known dead tube to someone who is willing to troubleshoot it and fix it themselves. Provide an honest description and a picture or two in an ad in the EE and someone will probably buy it. It isn't worth much (few hundred bucks, at most) but better than throwing it away. |
