I finally upgraded my helmet to a TW exfil LTP from an ACH. I currently have a norotos rhino 2 with the AKA2 dovetail adapter.
I've run into a slight problem, I don't have enough front to back adjust to be able to wear eyepro. Fully extended out, the ocular lens is still too close to my eye. Is there another mount that will give me enough room? Please don't say I need The INVG. Lol

What type of NOD are you using.... a PVS-14?  What type of adapter are you currently using between the rhino 2 and the NOD... Norotos DDA, Wilcox J-arm, Wilcox I-arm, other?

ETA comparison pics of the mount that you apparently don't want?

I am using a single pvs-14 with a norotos dual dovetail. It's not that I don't want the INVG, I really do, but I don't want to spend kind of scratch. Lol. If there is a cheaper alternative I'd be all for trying that first. If anyone has similar comparison pics to the one above that would be great. Looks like it may just end up being the INVG for me...

After looking at all my mounts (Rhino, Wilcox G24, TATM, AKA2) I find they are all very similar in eye relief. It may vary slightly from mount to mount but not significantly. The INVG definitely is your boy. There seems to be a standard amount of eye relief with most mounts with the exception of the INVG.

I also use a PVS-14 with a Norotos DD. I played around with swapping my mounts and did not find much difference with my mounts. I even took off the DD and went with the Jarm and did not get any more eye relief. Think the INVG is your best bet. I don't own one but have used it. While pricey it is an excellent mount.

Like Dino, I checked all of my mounts and the maximum ER is about the same except for the INVG.

A Wilcox I-arm (the straight one without the stupid shutoff switch) will give more ER than the Norotos DDA.

Many folks that have tried the I-arm complain that it won't allow the PVS-14 to get close enough to their eye, including me.

I traded mine away to another member, and it wasn't right for him either.  He had a WTT ad in the EE, but I just checked and he did get a trade for it.  If you post a WTB ad, someone may have one just sitting in their spare parts box.

While both the INVG and Wilcox arms seem overpriced, my opinion is that the $$$ is better spent on the INVG due to its versatility and resale value.  If you can find a used Wilcox I-arm cheap, than that might be better for you.

If you go with a Wilcox modular folding arm paired with either the Wilcox PVS-14 dual bridge arm or the IC dual bridge Arm, you can flip the Wilcox modular folding arm to give you another 1/2 inch or so of eye relief.

Well I got it sorted out. A nice member here IM'd me and offered a trade for his Wilcox I arm. Got it today and it works beautifully and suits my needs perfectly! Plenty of eye relief fore and aft. Plenty of room for eye pro and gets it close enough when I don't have eye pro on. Thank you Norbs79!

Welcome to the club!

I think there's like two of us now who actually like the Wilcox "I" Arm.

I tend to run my NODs a little bit further out, and wear eyeglasses, so the "I" Arm works great for me.

I'm surprised this isn't a more commonly discussed issue with users of the Nightcap.

Thanks for the thread, its been very helpful. I am running a TATM Short Arm mount with the Nortos DDA and it just doesn't give me enough eye relief. I will be looking for the Wilcox I-arm, or possibly upgrading to the INVG...

Out of curiosity, what type of eye pro are you wearing? You already fixed your issue but swapping glasses might have worked as well. Once in a while I would have that problem with Oakley m frames, usually when the kevlar pads shifted, never had an issue with Oakley flak jackets.

For the range I wear half jackets. But the issue wasn't with those. I gotta admit I needed the eye relief for when I play Airsoft. For that I wear ESS NVG goggles. And they weren't quite low profile enough. I tried the boogie regulators but even with antifog I couldn't keep them from fogging. I might switch to M frames with the helo kit but even with the DDA it still didn't give enough eye relief for them.
