"Sales restricted to military & law enforcement" I'm guessing that is a bit misleading as these devices are available at several of the larger vendors online |

Do you want VIS and IR? How about IR illumination? There are multiple options out there that vary in price and features. The ATPIAL-C and coming DBAL A-3 would be 2 "do all" units. I want VIS & IR. I'm leaning towards the CQBL due to the fact that I should be able to sight in during the day and switch to IR at night and still be pretty close. The 2 outputs on the CQBL appear to be closer together which is why I'm eyeing that one. I would like to have IR illum onboard as well, but a device with that feature is probably going to be out of my price range. |

Out of your choices I would pick the CQBL for being low profile and slaved vis/ir....makes zeroing reallllly easy. Caveat to that is that I wouldn't pay more than $650 for one.
If buying new I would save some more and get the DBAL-A3. The new A3 is really feature rich (with usable features) that the CQBL just can't hold up to. Mainly lack of hi/low setting, non quick disconnect, required separate ir illumination that can't be activated simultaneously. |

There have been quite a few CQBLs in the EE recently for decent prices. I'll be holding out for the A3 as I like the VIS green and adjustable illuminator. |

I am wanting one too, but my choices are the APTIAL-C and the DBALA3.. Any reason why the newest aren't on your list? Both have slaved lasers and IR illuminators and at least one also has a ND filter. The 2 I listed I can get from a buddy for <$650, all the other (newer) options are out of my price range. |
