Does anyone have any specs on these? I read a few archive posts here but there doesn't seem to be any other info available on these units. The reason I ask is that these seem to popping up on eBay lately and iwas wondering what type of tube they used, weapon mountable, etc..
They seem to be going for about $1k and I would assume that they have clean GEN 3 tubes. Seems like a good deal. Thanks in advance. |

I was going to be greedy and not say anything, but I can't help it.
They are a good unit, designed for Navy pilots. They are kind of a mix of PVS-14, MUM, and ANVIS parts. They use 10160 tubes, which you could drop in a 14, you just wouldn't have manual gain control. Think of them as kind of an advanced ENVIS. |

Are they relatively new, i.e. would they carry Omni VII tubes? |

Thanks for the info but I'm a bit confused as to your greedy comment? I'm assuming weapons mountable? There was a RFP issued by Crane in 2008 Fed Biz |

From time to time in the night vision world, there is an item that is not well known, so they almost always sell way too cheap on auction sites. This is one of those items. It will not be long before they are $2k+. I guess you could weapons mount it if you had a mount that would work with it, but the housing itself has no mounting interface as it was made to be strictly hand held. |

I'm betting that the two of you are looking at the same auction. Speaking from experience with Delta 4-3. I shoulda bid higher on the orange one. Quoted:

I'd thought as much This article on a mount that was printed is what led me to believe that it might be weapon mountable...the SNVS is mentioned as being compatible which I believe would require a 1/4" x 20 female to be available on the housing. What sort of tube? Usually a failed Milspec tube - that is a tube that didn't quite meet the Milspec and so was not of use for any other purpose... So you can't really call it an Omni... But performance is usually pretty good anyway - those tubes that don't quite make it usually don't fall that far. And in the older M703E's (and M903E's and other pre-SNVS monoculars ) they did sometimes just use surplus Milspec too, when there weren't enough failed units around. Regards David p.s. It lists the SNVS as being compatiable which leads me to believe that it might be weapon mountable. |
