| So I made the dive and bought one instead of going cheaper route since I know I will get it sooner or later. So far, very impressed with the quality just doesn't make sense that it doesn't have a on switch instead of having to press "fire" everytime I want it to light up. I hadn't fully sat down and read the whole manual, just a couple minutes of fondling it. I been busy with work so I hadn't had time to check it out. Please tell me I'm wrong. I have the tape switch wire which will help but what if I want to keep it light up without the tape switch? |

That is a super powerful IR Illuminator and probably the best that I have used, but most of the time I don't need one that super bright...good thing it has a low setting. http://www.phossil.com/thom/Night%20Vision/SPIR/SPIR%20&%20Box.jpg http://www.phossil.com/thom/Night%20Vision/SPIR/SPIR%20&%20Spyderco.jpg http://www.phossil.com/thom/Night%20Vision/SPIR/SPIR%20High%20Conc%20Mag.jpg It is a nice unit though, you will like it.... I hope so too! Do you use the tape switch remote or just use the 5 minutes feature? I know this is stupid question but do you leave the batteries in when not in use? I read the manual and it states not to leave batteries if unit not being used for a certain period. |

skypup- what nm ir pass filter do you think would be best to stop the visable red light emission? 800, 850, 900? Speaking of that. Is there one for the SPiR? I know the spir have a strap cap on it so I wouldn't think there would be a filter for the light.... Let me know if there is one! I know most likely the animals won't see it unless they are looking directly at it! Most of my hunting is in a tree stand so unless the hog happen to look up, he's not going to see it but i still would love one for my spir. |
