Im in the middle of transferring my omni v to a nvm-2aa housing.

I want to stick a beater omni i/ii or even a decent 2+ in my old ENVIS housing.

Is there a different designation for 10160s that are gen 2?
Do they even exist?

Just look for a used MX-10160A tube. They are Gen 3 Omni IV and really good tubes. The cost difference between a US Gen 2+and Gen 3 will not be huge if both are good tubes. The US Gen 2 + tubes are very good though. Euro tubes are also good but not usually cost effective for us in the US. We can find Gen 3 cheaper as a rule.

when I shopped for a gen 2 tube they were pricey, $1200-$1300 iirc.
