i posted similar topic in optics forum, but I suspect this is sort of a riding the fence topic that doesn't fit in that forum.
Obviously the ones we used while in service, aimpoint, eotech, etc. But what about some of the newer ones like Insight MRDS? |

A lot of people, myself included, believe you are better off with none of the above, and instead get an infared laser. That way you can keep the night vision on your head wherer it is convenient.
It also keeps you from having to mount your red dot in an awkward too far forward spot. |

Better freedom to move and look around plus your not pointing your weapon at things you have no intent on killing. |
