I know that this is not the best set up but I am just starting to get into night vision and I can not spend $1000 plus on a night vision optic. I will be using this for going to and from my deer stand. I will not hunt with it because it is illegal and you can not hunt before or after day light. I will also be using this around the house and yard just for fun Thanks |

The more I look I am liking the D-300. It cost more so I will either have to sell something or save up for a while but I do like the other options that it has. |

I really don't won't to see you waste your money on a gen 1 device. They really aren't worth the money for their performance. There is a large price increase to a gen II unit, but the performance is way better to say the least compared to gen I. I would recommend a flashlight with a red lens or something of that sort before wasting the money on a gen I device. Your going to hear alot of similiar comments due to the fact just about everybody here has either owned or looked threw gen I.
