Hi guys
need some advice on a few things 1st anybody dealt with www.nightvisionus.com? offered an exportable (low fom) mini 14 for $3700 with Newcon tube 45lpmm -54lpmm that's against a DEP SHP 65lpmm for $4200 tubed mini 14 remember I'm UK so beggars cannot be choosers would love to get the mini 14SHP of victor for $2800 but export laws ect, from the two options above what opinions does anybody have. big difference in quality or not alot for the difference in price? |

Newcon = Russian.. It's hit or miss. Some tubes are crappy, others are surprisingly good, the best ones roughly matching American OMNI IV.
DEP.. well.. I wasn't too impressed with those I have seen. For example, a pretty expensive XX1665 SuperGen one guy had installed in his Dedal seemed worse than a Russian Gen2+ labeled as Gen2IA. I'd go for Newcon Gen3 if you ask me. |
