I am interested in purchasing some NV equipment. I have read quite a bit. I want something that is not magnified that may be mounted from weapon to weapon as needed in front of a scope or red dot/eotech, etc. I dont mind spending the money, i dont want to half ass it. I have seen the PVS-14 that TNV is selling for $3600. Is that pretty much the standard? Is there anything else out there or a higher generation that is right around the corner that i should wait out for? I dont mind waiting if something better is coming in the near future. This is not an emergency purchase by any means. All inputs appreciated.

Give us a call. Our Night Enforcer units come with a full 5 year tube warranty and we hand select all the units for our ARFCOM customers. You will be VERY happy with the results!  Also there is no "Gen 4" per say and the Pinnacle Autogated units are the latest issue.  Hope this helps.

The PVS-14 is a wonderful device, but it will need to mount behind your day optic rather than in front.  You may also want to look into helmet mounting as many folks do, but that requires an alternate aiming device such as a laser or a 2nd NOD.

Having personally viewed through several units supplied to various folks including myself by TNVC, I can honestly say that they have ALL been top spec in terms of tube performance characteristics and lack of significant blemishes.  Add to that some of the best CS around, and you really can't go wrong with them in a world where there are multitudes of unscrupulous sellers.

I can certainly corroborate that the TNVC units I own and have seen are top notch.  You will also get good information and customer service, like no other company with whom I have ever dealt.  You can deal with Vic in complete confidence.

Here is a picture of my PVS-14 behind an Eotech.  I "cut my teeth" on this setup, and it served me well, until I bought a D-740.  Just so you know, the D-740 easily beats the PVS-14 / red dot setup in  terms of clarity and target ID, because you do not have the light transmission reduction of two or more pieces of glass through which you must look in addition to your monocular.

ETA:  once you see the Gen III, pinnacle, autogated, hand selected tube from Victor / TNVC, I feel strongly that you will not feel the need to wait around for anything better. ....unless of course, you want to spend around $10K for the PVS-22.
