New M4S mounted with the PVS-14 on the 14.5" Scout.
Sometimes you don't want to wear the helmet or use the IR laser.
Just switching the PVS-14 with the 3X Magnifier gives a good day/night capability.

Dakrevela, my first thought when I saw that pic was "this has gotta be his service weapon" like you are an operator or something but then I noticed that the lower on that m16 doesn't have the A2 reinforcements (or if it does I can't make them out in the pic) so my next thought was holy shit that is a transferable.  If that is a transferable receiver, then you sir have achieved the holy grail of private setups, congratulations...

It LOOKS like a 3rd Gen "Pinnacle" M4000 "WASP" autogated weaponsight. NICE!

I just picked up a 3rd Gen NVS/nvec M644 "RAPTOR" for my Kel-Tec RFB & COLT M16A1 carbine. Those are going to be some tough shoes to fill; the "RAPTOR" is SUPERB to say the least!

Here is my contribution.
Just got it in today:  D-740 3rd gen hand select alpha.
Thanks to TNVC-Clasky for walking me through this purchase, really happy with it.
Currently sitting on top of my .22lr setup.

Pretty versatile units! Good looking systems...

On April 21st at midnight, point those suckers at the constellation Lyra. You've never really seen a meteor shower until you've looked through a crisp 3rd gen NVD.

Wow, great looking stuff, and that bullpup looks great.  Do they make that in 6.8?

The Kel-Tec RFB Bullpup is ONLY available in .308/7.62x51mm NATO currently. Other calibers are being considered, but even Ms Cleo couldn't pin those down.

There might be a .223/5.56x45mm NATO variant called the CFB sometime in the future.

Barrel length is 18", with 24" & 32" possibly later...

They (Microtech Small Arms Research) had a 6.8 and 7.62x39 conversion (for the E4) in the works but they put it on hold to put the pistol caliber (9mm first) into production first. Hopefully it will come soon.

I can understand the interest in 9mm, but seriously, 6.8 should only take a back seat to 5.56!

edwin907,

The US Optics SN-3, AIMPOINT MICRO & the OSTI AN/PVS-22 Universal Night Sight™ (UNS™) make for one really sweet setup, especially on a KMC SR-15... That is one fine looking rig & the USO scope is killer glass. Have you ever weighed that monster, loaded, with all the goodies attached?

I'd like to try something along those lines on my RFB. My MGO 6x ACOG has a rail on top where a LASER currently resides. I'd like to use that rail to extend to an M810/AN/PVS-22 or BNS with either a QD or QD swing-out mount. I don't have enough primary rail on my RFB to make that work, but if I can somehow use the ACOG's top rail instead to attach the NVD, I'd be in business. Essentially, the NVD would be hanging upside down, directly infront of the objective len's ARD.

Who makes such a connecting rail & pivot mount that could hang in that configuration

TIA,

-John

I suppose that what I REALLY need is a LaRue *S.T.O.M.P. clip-on type rail system...
*restricted .mil/L.E.
OR
Something close to identical!!!

John, I think that adding rail in front of the ACOG to "clip on" the UNS would be the best way to go for sure.
I'll keep my eyes open for something or a combination of something that would do the trick.
How do you like that 6X ACOG?
Have you ever used a TA55 ACOG?  Anything like that.
I'd imagine the low light on the 648 to be pretty impressive.

I appreciate the feedback. I'd prefer to mount the NVD off the ACOG rather than extending the RFB's primary rail with a riser or something like that. QD is a must; rotation out of the way for DAY use would be a real plus! That LaRue S.T.O.M.P. "bridge" would certainly do the trick if I could find one for civilian sale.

I've never had an opportunity to try the 5.5x ACOG, so I can't comment. Mainsail here & at KTOG has one, IIRC. Unfortunately, it's going back to Trijicon due to failure of the W & E adjusters. The 6x MGO ACOG meets my criteria, especially with the Tenebraex KillFlash ARD. The objective lens is HUGE & pulls a LOT of light when other scopes can barely produce a clear image at dusk/dawn. I like the layout & controls. It's about 1lb heavier than some of its competitors, but that's a minor sacrifice considering all that it has to offer. I'd prefer a duplex reticle as I'm more of a precision shooter than a competition shooter. For PDQ acquisition/engagement of multiple, moving targets, it would be a tough act to follow. Adding night vision capability to that scope would be nothing less than awesome, albeit a bit heavy!

Hi TNVC,

How do MGO 6x ACOGs work out with the PVS-22? As I don't have much length in my Kel-Tec RFB bullpup's primary rail, I was wondering what would be the best way to mount the NVD. Is there a mounting system that utilizes the ACOG's top rail for a pivoting or fixed PVS-22? Do you have such a component?

TIA,

-John
