I got a generation 3 image intensifier. I tried to read the build your own, but it seems hard to get parts for to build my own scope. My question is could I get this gen 1 scope www.nightvisionstore.com/ATN%20MO-21%20Monocular.htm and swap out my gen3 intensifier? It seems if all the intensifiers are the same size they could all fit into the same tube. If the electronics need to be changed thats fine, but I need a housing. |

i know for a fact that some of the russian stuff is comp[atible with gen 1 and gen 3 stuff, same body but i do not know about that particular monocular..... if you have a 18mm us made gen 3 tube I would scrounge for parts to assemble one in a 14 body, i may even be willing to lend a hand, i can get or find you all the parts you need almost immediately 1200 gets all the parts minus the tube |
Gen1 tubes are a different size/length meaning your focal distances and such for the lenses are off. It can be a similar case with some older gen2 (for example MX9916) tubes as well, though these days most gen2 and gen3 are interchangeable as people noticed this problem back in the 90's and since then its sort of standardized. But to the best of my knowledge Gen1 stuff is not swapable. If you have a g3 tube you can get parts for a pvs-14 like avengeusa said. |
| Thanks for the answers. Does anyone have a link to where I can get the parts to complete a monocular that I can mount on my ar? A link would be cool as I just built my rifle and the play funds are drained for a while. I will probably ave to go piece by piece over time to build this. |
