Hi,
Thought id post a picture from across the pond..... Same as a number of pictures already posted; the ubiquitous PVS-14 but mounted this time on a British Mk6a ballistic helmet, mount used is the issued rhino arm and helmet mount. Would love to drill and mount onto the helmet proper but not allowed to :/

I love to do night hikes. When you are on a long night hike you dont want to have to walk around holding the NV. The helmets (even mine) which is just a PSAGT helmet with extra padding is MUCH MUCH more comfortable then the stock braincrusher head harness. |

Just got this thing installed today.
Basic CVC helmet setup. I do want to go with a 4-point chin strap and not this 3-point thing to better distribute the weight. In case anyone's wondering, the helmet band was taken off of my issue helmet. You've probably seen these things in IDF photos. We hand make them out of elastic material with little spaces for different items. On the back, I attached a mitznefet (one of those chef-hat things, helmet cover) and it has space for light sticks or other accessories on the sides. I will sew on a battery compartment soon. Fun fact: in the IDF we used the helmet bands as IFF (Identify friend-foe). The pattern made on the top looks like a kippah worn by religious Jews. :)

I'm also no expert on NVG as I've had gen I for years and just upgraded to 7's and 14's recently One big disadvantage with a weapon mount is that to use them you have to be pointing it at everything you are viewing not really the safest or smartest move. Again I'm still training and learning but I would do one of the Bell/Protech helmet setups shown and buy build a good laser and practice practice practice |

Newb here that needs some help. I have a MUM/Mini with the J-arm,the factory weapons mount, and the dreaded "skull crusher". I have saved and sold guns to finally get what I wanted and not waste my cash.
I have looked at the bump helmets from TNVC, I can afford $69-129. I am confused as to what mount to use, I assume I will use my factory arm that connects it to the "skull crusher". So what mount does the J-arm connect to? Keep in mind this is a budget project for me. Any help would be great. Guess I may have to call and bug Victor. |

You would need the Rhino flip up mount assembly and your choice on helmet shroud (which we recommend) that allows the Rhino to snap into this or one can just use the hooks of the Rhino plate with wrap around strap. See pics above that show the Rhino flip up assembly or HERE that shows the detailed parts of the helmet package. Hope this helps. |

I also went with the Bell Raction for my PVS-7 after reading over the posts here.
I bought the helmet at Sports Authority, the mount on Ebay, and the Remington light at Lowes. I was looking at mounting a flashlight with a rail system but I came across the new Remington Extreme Track headlamp. It actually worked out great with the batteries in the back to offset the weight. The LED feature has two red, two red/one blue, two red strobe. The white light is pretty powerful (more than my Surefire executive) and also has a low setting. The battery pack has a flashing low light LED for the rear. I added some MICH chin straps to finish it off. I'm really happy with the setup.

A few detail shots of how I mounted everything. I used heavy duty velcro on the light as I would rather have it detach from the helmet than break if I whack it on something. I work in mostly urban areas so I'm not worried about snagging it on jungle vines etc. I was able to tuck the light wire into one of the vent holes and since its coiled it stays in place. I looped a piece of 550 cord on the battery pack which can be removed using the NVG mount button. It was like the light was made for a helmet!
Since the light is designed to be worn as a head mount and now its on its side, I added some grip tape near the LED controls for quick reference.
