I applied to make a 10/22 SBR on 6/9. Yesterday I learned that you DO have to include dashes/hyphens if they are part of the S/N. I'm not 100% sure if I did or not, but I'm 75% sure I didn't. Questions:
1. Does eforms remove dashes when it creates a draft/submitted copy of your form? 2. When I look at the line item on eforms now, it shows no dash in the S/N... Would "the system" remove them there as well? Is there any hope that I included the dash in the original submission? 3. I must beat the 41F deadline. Should I resubmit with the correct/complete serial number or is there any way to edit the current submission? 4. I know how to submit a new form, but how do I cancel the old one / request a refund? And how is the refund completed? The CC I used has been cancelled (some shit stain stole the number and used it to buy some plane tickets)... So hopefully they mail a check or something... |

1. No
2. No 3. No way to edit (but you could email, or Ask The Experts, and ask) 4. Same as above...email or Ask The Experts. Refund automatically goes directly back to the card. Most cancelled cards can't be used, but will accept refunds, so you may have to deal with your CC company to get a check or transfer the credit I've seen people get Disapproved for leaving the hyphen out of a model name/number, but don't think I've actually seen anybody mention it for an SN. |

Copy that. I suppose it's worth a try. BTW, how do you cancel an application? Can you do it online or do you have to call? I answered that earlier. They want it in writing, so email or Ask The Experts works. For email, [email protected] should be sufficient. |

How would ATF know what is printed on your gun ? They have no clue exactly how it is on your gun until you tell them.
You think if you left out a dash or slash but got the numbers and letters correct you are going to prison ? Don't think it to death. They have much bigger screw ups than you omitted a dash to deal with. Not advocating screwing with them. Just fill it out in good faith and roll with it. |

Like BW said regarding question 4. I had a disapproval for a messed up model number and had to resubmit. I too had a fraud issue between submission and disapproval and i had to cancel my debit card. Card numbers change, but your account itself doesn't. ATF refunds said it would credit back no problem without any intervention and it showed back up in my checking account just under three weeks later. No sweat regarding that aspect. |

How do you think they know you've submitted an incorrect model number? Or left off the alpha prefix of your SN? Because they have the info from the manufacturer. I will say it's odd that in some cases it seems the model name goes through more scrutiny than the SN. I (like others) have approved forms for an Osprey where the form has an 0SP- SN while the engraving is OSP-. |

Don't count on it, when I Formed 1 my Benelli M2 for a SBS the "system" automagically changed the manufacturer's location from Italy to Form 1 Manufacture. What I typed in on eForms: F1 M2 SBS Original Submission by FredMan, on Flickr
What it changed it to that caused my (temporary) denial: F1 M2 SBS Disapproved by FredMan, on Flickr

A point of reference... I checked the one F4 I have from eForms, for a Spectre. The engraving has a dash, the eForm does not. I also have two paper F4s for Spectres...one has a dash, one doesn't. All approved. Under normal circumstances is just leave it alone and see how it turns out. With 41F looming, however, I'm fine resubmitting. It's not like I'm gonna go very far too the back of the line. I just submitted the F1 on 6/9...and don't really expect to get any approvals until 2017 anyway. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
