Forgive me if this is a stupid question. I called ATF NFA branch and the guy on the other line didn't even sound confident with his answer. That being said, I figured I would ask you guys.
I know you have to submit two copies of the Form 1. On the Revised June 2014 edition, are all 5 pages(double sided) considered the two copies? The ATF guy I spoke to stated I have to print the Form 1 twice, equaling 10 pages all together. IMO, it kind of doesn't make sense because would that really mean I have to have 4 copies of my passport photo for the Form 1? Thanks for the help. I just wanted to submit the paperwork so I can get my stamp back without any delays. ETA: Correction on number of pages. |

1. Yes, you print them out double-sided aka "duplex" in your printer's settings.
2. You only need to send them two copies of the first three pages that actually have the boxes you fill out. Don't send them all the legal instruction pages you can toss those. 3. This is a PITA, because the three pages don't print out CORRECTLY double sided if you just print the entire .PDF file as it comes from the ATF. It prints out pages 1/2 on one sheet, then 3/1 on the next sheet and that screws it up. 4. What you want to do is set your PDF reader/printer, be it your browser, Adobe... whatever to print only pages 1-3 double-sided or "duplex" , then do that again. This way you get a nice printout of pages 1/2 on one sheet and 3/nothing on the second sheet of paper. 5. The extra boxes in the new version of the Form1 mean you DO NOT need to send in the separate "Certification of Compliance" form. (aka the "citizenship form") 6. If it's a trust, send two copies of the trust/certification of trust with a Schedule A attached, even if the Sched A is blank. 7. Don't freak out about the date by the OMB form number in the upper right corner of the first page of the Form 1. (6/30/2016) etc. This is not the date the form starts being the "right form". It is the "right form" NOW. It is the deadline date by which the last version of the Form1 is no longer accepted. |

I did four paper/mail submission F1's at the beginning of summer with this new version of the F1. It was three SBR's and a DD, and trying to get the PDF to print correctly with pages 1-2-3-blank in order with 1/2 on facing sides of the same sheet of paper and 3 on one side by itself drove me INSANE, and I'm an IT/IS guy...
I had to calm down and look at it critically, and finally figure out I should print pages 1-2-3 only (or page range 1-3 depending on the print dialog) and then do it again manually. Why the ATF doesn't have a simple bullet point list like this... well it's not easy on purpose.

I want to go through this process without any delays. Thanks again though. I just mailed it off to the Sheriff to get his signature. |

6. If it's a trust, send two copies of the trust/certification of trust with a Schedule A attached, even if the Sched A is blank. Everything else was pretty spot-on...but two copies of the trust is unnecessary. For that matter, you only need to send one copy even if sending multiple forms in the same envelope. |

True, this is correct. However, SOT encouraged it, because he wound up getting stuck with a huge delay when they had the forms but lost the trust...

You really only need 2 copies of page 1 and 2, same paper, page 3 is only if you are paying by credit card. I had both my Form 1s sent back this summer because the printer the ATF used messed up and made
page 1 on one side and 3 on the other, page 2 was on a separate page. Talked to the examiner and was told she only wanted page 1 and 2 front and back of 1 piece of paper, whew!
