I got a letter saying that there may have been an error on a trust paper form 4 (model number).

It is marked COPY and says that it is a courtesy letter and says to contact the dealer to make sure changes are made.  Did they send the dealer one also?

eta - better info below.  Thanks for the answers.

Contact the dealer.

Your dealer will receive the original back. All he needs to do is line through the incorrect information and add the correct model. It then gets returned to the ATF. You do not go to the back of the line.

Thanks, guys.

Are the numbers not part of the model name for AAC cans?  The catalog always refers to them with the number included and they are included as a part of the trademarked name e.g. Tirant-9, Tirant-45, Tirant-9s, Tirant-45s, Evolution-9, etc.

Those are all "TiRant" models.

No -9 or -45

It's been a long time since I received an error letter, but do they still put down a date that it has to be back by in order to retain one's place in line?

Either way, don't dawdle and make sure your dealer doesn't either.

Yes, they give a return by date...

Pretty sure my last one said 30 days, and not a specific date.

ETA: it actually had both. 30 days from a specific date:

And then enclosed error letter...same dates.

For mine, it was approved within 48 hours of them receiving it back.

Changes must be received within 30 days.

I called them this morning and he had already made the changes and sent it back in.  He's right on top of things.

I received an error letter yesterday for apparently writing down my credit card number wrong (1 looked like a 7?). They included the 2 original 1140-00-0014. Can i just mail a check this time around and leave the CC info on the form?

BTW: Letter was dated, but did not have submit within 30 days on it.

Not sure.  If you don't get an answer, you can probably call or email them with the SN or control #, tell them what's up and get an answer.

As far as my situation goes, GP at Gamaliel had apparently already sent the corrections by the time I contacted him.  I called the NFA branch to confirm receipt, they transferred me to the contract researcher and it was in her stack.  Hopefully that means I get good news this week.

FWIW, I don't think it was something that was Gamaliel's fault.  It was apparently copied directly from a previously approved form but may have been at odds with the original F2.

Probably a coincidence but an eF1 went through the same day.
