Friend with a class111 tag asked me about a 9mm machine gun with a crown logo and a "C" under the crown on the frame.

Those are the only makings he saw on the gun.

Anyone have a handle on what the manufacturer is or any other information?

Thanks

Without more info, i would venture to guess its a sten gun.  The British have historically used various crown proof markings on firearms.  This is completely speculative though as many other countries also use crowns on proof marks.

ETA: http://www.nramuseum.org/media/940944/proofmarks.pdf

ETA 2:  Here is another good resource:  http://www.sunblest.net/gun/Markings.htm

Bottom line OP, it is all going to be speculation unless you can get a pic.

Wouldn't an NFA dealer know what a STEN looks like?
