While I'm waiting on an official answer, I thought I'd poll the audience...

Receiver sent out for engraving and approved F1 crossed in the mail - stamp came back sooner than expected.
Receiver came back engraved 'XXX Trust 1' instead of 'XXX Trust I'.

I realize that many don't file until the receiver is back in hand. Nothing I can do about that now.

Anyone care to speculate on whether this will need to be 'fixed' or will be OK?

Meh, it could be a "I" depending on the font.

IMHO...I think the ATF would be more concerned about whether or not you took the effort to have it done without abbreviating anything, or shortening it in any way. If it was mine, I wouldn't worry about it. If it really bothered me, maybe I get my Dremel out and add the little "flag" at the top & bottom of the character.

Pure speculation (as you asked for).

What answer do you expect a government bureaucracy to give you?  Seriously.

Since you asked them the question, I predict you will get an answer you don't want.
