I just got a checking account for my NFA trust today, and they gave me a book of starter checks to use.  I really have no need to order a whole box of checks (125 quant) since it is unlikely I will use them all over my lifetime.  The book of 10 starter checks is fine for now. Has anyone heard of the check for an NFA item not being accepted because it is a starter check?

NFA branch won't care if you're talking about paying the transfer tax.

Individual sellers - it's up to them.  Given the HUGE lead times involved before delivery can be made of an NFA item, I imagine it'd have ample time to clear, but if a seller doesn't like early number checks, they don't have to take them.  There's no real point for a trust to have a checking account at all - since it's not needed to pay the tax or purchase any items.

As long as it cashes and they get their money, they could care less.

Yup. I've personal used a starter check before on a tax stamp payment, had no issues.
