| I just call the NFA Branch today and they told me my form 1. I sent in in march went pending may 3rd and will not be completed till feb. that is like 9 months from pending and 11 months from date mailed last time it only took 6 months. That is insane that the wait time has went up by 3 months in less than a year. |
|
My pending date was April 11th, and the guy on the phone said I should expect stamp approval in October. I wonder if regional differences account for the disparity in projected approval dates?

I feel your pain. Called on mine yesterday andmy pending date is April 17 with a expected approval of January. I got the nfa blues big time now. |

Using my last stamp as an example, my wait was six months from pending to receiving. So if your pending date is April, then you should receive it in October. When I called they told me June, so quite possibly you might be in for the long haul, if they told you next year. |
|
Times have gone up some, but they also have help now as well.
For what it's worth, I have mailed 42 stamps off in the last 12 months and keep track of everyone. Form 1 SBRs, Form 4 machine guns, suppressors, and SBRs. I can tell you with confidence that the time they tell you over the phone is longer than what it ever is...at least in Texas. I use to say plan on 6 months, but now I say plan on 7 months. A little more or a little less is the norm. |

You're wrong. It went up 3 months within a month. Your also getting into vacation season which will add to the wait. I thought they were training some extra people to do more of the mundane work for the examiners. They are but it won't matter. The amount of forms coming in will just be enough for the extra examiners to do. NFA is very popular now, Trust make it so easy to buy so everyone is jumping on the trust wagon. |

Funny thing the LEO sign off is going away.So all those people who purchased trusts just to get around the CLEO /fingerprint clause are going to be in for a surprise because now anyone associated with the trust will have to be fingerprinted. |

That doesn't bother me one bit. Please keep in mind folks go trust route for a couple different reasons. (1) CLEO won't sign off, (2) Want multiple people to access to toys or (3) which is my case, I don't feel I should have to ask "permission" to buy a legal "firearm". I'm glad I went trust route, and even if CLEO signature had went away when I bought my first can, I still would have went trust route just for reason #2 above. Just each individuals preference on what their needs are and I'm glad all of us have that option Avaliable. |
