Has anyone ever tried to check the status of a form 3? Ive got a suppressor the dealer ordered for me and they are just waiting on the form 3 to be approved. Its been about a month. just want this form to get approved so I can start the long wait

| I purchased an Octane 45 through my dealer who ordered it through a distributor. The can was ordered by them on February 21st and I haven't heard anything from them regarding the Form 3 coming back. I called a week or so ago to see if he'd heard anything but he had not. I was wondering... does the dealer get some sort of notification when a Form 3 is filed (ie. from the distributor)? I just hope the Form 3 was actually filed by the distributor as in they actually had the can. It's really going to suck if the Form 3 was never filed which is why I am wondering if the receiving dealer gets some notification when the form is initiated. I've got several NFA items but this is the first time I've had to ask this question as I've never waited more than 7 weeks for a Form 3 to go through. Anyone know? |

I am at 13 weeks right now. The guy I ordered it from just keeps telling me it is pending and there is nothing that can be one.
I have never had a form 3 take this long and I am starting onthink someone fuked up somewhere if I am at 13 weeks and still not approved when I hear 8 weeks is about average. |

Your dealer can check, but you can't. They won't provide info on transfers other then to parties involved. For the F3 you aren't an involved party. I guess the nice lady on the phone at ATFE was new. She let me know the F3 for my can was delayed. I can't remember the term she used. Turns out the dealer I bought it from used my local dealer's old info.
