Well it looks like one of my form fours has a problem and they are keeping the other one together.
It is a OAL and barrel length or either my vector Uzi or my mod 50 reising.

Does anyone have the factory lengths for both handy?

Chas, this is a result of the Macs-to-M249 scam prosecution.

ATF does not want the correct lengths; instead, you must list whatever the original maker/manufacturer put on the Form 1/2.

The Reising has a 14" barrel and is 35.5" overall, and those are the numbers I've seen on the few Form 2 photocopies of H&R documentation I've seen.

As far as Vector Uzi's go, the F4 of my NIB example listed a barrel length of 10" and an OAL of 18". It is clearly wrong, but ATF approved it that way back in 2003. You might call Vector in Utah -- they should know what the Form 2's listed as dimensions.

Wish I could be more precise or helpful ....

My M10/45, which was just approved yesterday, was listed as having a 5.75" barrel and being 11" overall.  Clearly the 11" overall is with the stock retracted, and not generally the way the NFA Branch wants the OAL expressed, but the previous owner had the same measurements on his form 4, and I suspect it goes back to the manufacturer listing it that way on the form 2.

Tony, as always you are more then helpful. I will email Vector and see what they say. And see what the letter says from the ATF. I am sure only the Reising is wrong but the Uzi is stuck with it.

I will post up dates.

Tony would it be ok if I call you tomorrow?

Well it was the Uzi.  Form 4 was listed as 10" barrel and 18.5"OAL.

So what are my choices? I can have my dealer change it to 18" or call the ATF up right?

Well they tell him what the form form should say?

Oh and Vector has not emailed me back yet

I just went through this with an M2 Carbine.  It is an amnesty-registered gun and on the original form the block for overall length was left blank.  I fill in the proper length on the Form 4 and it gets bounced because it doesn't match their records.  When I call and ask the assistant examiner, she tells me that I can either document my info with photographs of the rifle or I can just leave the block blank so it matches the original records.  They will be perfectly happy either way.

The easiest thing to do was cross out the info, initial the change, and mail it back so that's what happened.  Some day, if I'm feeling ambitious I can send them a letter with photos and such to amend the record but right now I just want the damn transfer to go through.

My Vector Uzi was sent back too for incorrect lengths. My FFL changed the lengths to 10" barrel and 26" OAL and was approved. My FFL said they were originally registered with those lengths.

My Mini Uzi Form 4 was also sent back which we originally sent in with actual measured lengths but as Tony_K stated above the ATF is referencing the original Form1. And as you know these were originally registered as full size Uzis by Group Ind but later cut down to Mini Uzis by Vector. After speaking to the examiner's asst., I took pics of the barrel and complete Mini next to a tape measure and emailed those back. Form 4 was approved and in my dealers hands in a week.

Well the Uzi and reising were both approved 3/15/13.

The ATF sent a error letter to me dealer telling him to change the barrel and OAL of the Uzi and gave him the measurements they want to be put down. Two weeks later both were approved. In am a little mad that they held the other MG till this cleared up.

And vector never called or emaed me back
