I have a form 1 and a form 4 I sent in middle of October.
I called yesterday just to make sure the serial numbers were in the system. I was told they were both "pending" as of just a few days after they were mailed. If i recal correctly, in the past, it often took a month or two to reach pendig stauts. Did they change the process? |

Assistant examiners, who are on contract with NFA, are helping with the backlog. They worked out a step by step process to move forms thru faster. Still pending to approval is 4 and half months to 5 months depending on examiners. I can tell you if you have Sara Jones or Shannon Siverio, you got a 4 and a week from pending to approval. Every examiner is different speed but those 2 examiners I know for a fact, work at that speed.
5 months ago, I can tell you that it took a month to go into pending. They just started moving things fast like 2-3 months ago. I have many many forms with them. I'd say I have about 2 per month since 5 months ago. |

Please clarify the part in red. 4 months and a week? 4 and a half weeks? Thanks! |
| A stamp I sent in in March took a month to go pending, 2 at the end of July a couple days. That is one area the assistants helped out a bunch. Stuff sent in may looking like it was taking the better part of 6 weeks. I'm not sure if times are still trending down that much or at all. It may be pretty close to a plateau at this point. |

Now keep in mind, this trend will only get better or stay the same if the assistant are around to stay for a while. They were suppose to end last October but some people called up to NFA to ask and they stated they will be around for a while. So who knows what they mean by "awhile" as that could be 3 more months till end of year or what but lets hope its AWHILE. Jeez I hate typing on my phone, I have to edit every 1 minute. |
| Mine went 29 days from cashed check to pending . SBR in Illinois, 255 days from the day I mailed it until the day I received the stamp and it would have been a couple weeks sooner had my CLEO filled out his portion of the paperwork correctly , I wouldnt have gotten it back and had to resend it again :( |
