If I have my sbr pending since this month, then the weapons gets approved while my status is still pending, will I get my sbr or roll they auto reject me since the ban was approved?

Most likely.

So get out there and vote.

I am, but looks like they both wants to ban ARs so that point doesn't matter as much. I hope if it happens, the will just no longer accept future applications and finish out the currently pending ones.

If within the 7 months to get a sbr approved, if the AR ban gets passed, will the apprve my pending sbr AR or will atf say- we can not procesd yur factory sbr form 4 because the AR weapons banned was passed.

There won't be a ban in 7 months, but if there were I doubt anything would be grandfathered this time including already owned guns.

These morons couldn't pass a budget in over 3 years, what makes you think they can pass a gun ban in 7 months?

I don't see a ban coming any time soon...especially if the people pull through for Romney.

BTW you might want to start typing your posts into Microsoft Word before pasting them into the site. Between your grammar and spelling, you are difficult to understand.

Budget I can understand takes a little more looking into. AR ban could be a simple, "lets just get rid of them"

Approved, I didn't think so.
The ban was supposed to be up for renewal back in 2008 when Obama took office...but nothing happened more than a proposal.  Cool with me.
I can only imagine that this is lower on both of their priority lists.......and certainly wouldn't help the economy......besides a huge part of the problem is not with LEGAL firearms.

And as far as Romney, he could change his mind, just like he does about everything else.

Both parties are evil, just have to pick the "lesser" evil, lol.

I am sorry but this thread=fail.

Furthermore, I cannot imagine that the ATF will be able to refund those $200 checks they cash instantly so I would assume that there would in fact be a grandfather with what they have and that they would just reject incoming forms at the point of a ban.  I doubt it would be possible to refund the some odd 30,000 they have sitting at any given time.

But this whole thread is all just assuming so why not just vote and then wait and see .

What AR ban? I know I've been in East Europe for a while, so what have I missed?

Nothing. This is a post about speculation alone.

+1

also calm down with the Ban panic.  to people on here guns are very important, to the public it's low on the priories.
make a new time consuming law on guns.... or.....  jobs, health-care, abortions, economy, ect ect....

An education about the assault weapons ban is something you need to acquire before you start telling other people about it. The 1994 AWB had a 10-year sunset clause written into it. That is, if it wasn't renewed by Congress and the President in 2004, it would simply go away. President Bush, in what some say was a political ploy to appease folks on the left, said that if Congress passed it and it got to his desk, he would sign it. The argument that his statement was a ploy is based on the theory that President Bush knew it didn't have a snowball's chance in Hell of getting through Congress, so he knew he'd never have to live up to that promise. So, the Federal AWB died in late 2004, slightly more than four years before Barack Obama took office. (As an aside, you were also wrong on the date at which Obama was in office. He may have been elected in November 2008, but he did not take office until January 2009, not 2008, as you stated.) It was President Bush, not President Obama, who might have possibly been given the opportunity to renew the AWB. Luckily, we did not have to test President Bush's willingness to live up to his promise to sign an AWB renewal bill.

They could very easily refund those checks, it would just take several months, as it does now. Would any future ban affect NFA weapons? Who knows? Hopefully, we'll never have to worry about it.

I don't see them doing it.  Seems like too much could too easily go wrong.  I know they could but it seems equally likely that they just stop taking in new ones and work with what was already in the process.

Calm down Francis

Even if there were a some kind of ban that went into effect you could still make the SBR, but it might need to comply if it was semiauto. The BATFE ain't sending any money proactively back to anyone... Ever... Even of you have to make a singleshot SBR with no detachable magazine.

Nyet, Tovarish. (Not more than a few words or phrases, but I can learn quickly. I can say "Stop, or I'll shoot you" in Serbo-Croatian, which is a similar language.
