Just called to check and I'm in problem status as of 9/27. Sucks that its a problem but HOORAY! I'm close.
My pending date is 6/5 so this is quicker than I expected. |

I'm pending 6/8 and I called on Monday to check. I'm still pending. I want to call again tomorrow, but I told myself I'd wait until Monday since that will mark 4 months of pending. |

I'd wait at 5 months from pending. I don't think Shannon Siverio is as fast as Sara Jones. Mine was at 4 and half months from pending... |

Completely my fault. I forgot to put my name in CLEO part. Crappy part about this is that they sent it back to the transferor. He sent it back to me. I got it last night. Big bold part at the bottom of their letter says if they don't hear back within 30 days of 9/27, its disapproved. I overnighted it just to be safe. Here's hoping things go quickly.

Something with the CLEO signature. I'll know more when I get it back. See I just had that problem. Guy forgot to sign/put what district he works in. Burnt me up. Person at the NFA branch told me it will go back into pending and can take up to 8 months......I've been pending since the beginning of June. ![]() |

Thats why when you send back corrections, you make it "ATTN: examiner" and attach the error letter so they know its a correction being sent back instead of a new form being applied. |

Oh....Well I sent the forms back with the correction sheet so hopefully they'll catch that. I hope you're right. |

Tracking shows they got it today. I didn't send it to anyone's attention since the sheet didn't say to. I'll call tomorrow and ask about it. I have one on problem status I corrected it and they recd it wed the 17th. I called yesterday to check and its still pending. |
| I just had the most pleasant call with the ATF that I've had before. I spoke with the assistant that is handling my paperwork. She went through her stack of mail until she found mine, opened it up, looked over it and said I was good to go. She said that Dana Pickles is my examiner and he is out until Monday so I should be approved sometime next week and get the stamp back within two weeks or so. Good news! |

What is the phone number that you call to check the status? Also, what information is needed to check the status? I just sent out my first form last week. I know I have a while before it goes pending, I just want know for when the time comes. |

I know they recieved it. I expect another 6 months by my luck. |

Yeah mine went problem status October 11 (June 13 pending date). Apparently, they want a picture of the weapon. So lame... Never heard of that.... You must own something they don't believe you should have... Well, I called them when I first sent in the paperwork back in May and they confirmed the weapon was in the registry, which is good. I think it has something to do with the roll mark. It's a Colt M16, with no "A1" or "A2" after it. I called the seller and he informed me that the examiner had already contacted him and that he'd sent in the pictures they requested. Guess I'll wait and see. When I called back last Monday, they said it was still in "problem status" as of the 11th. Honestly, I'm nor sure why it takes so long to get this stuff sorted out. It could have been approved on the 11th, but it was put to the side, they've had the paperwork that they requested now for about 2 weeks...seems to me they should have gone back over it and approved it by now. Just have to wait and see I suppose...I just wish they'd get on with it so I can go pay the remaining balance and pick the damn thing up. |

If it shows its still pending as of 11th the original date then that means they hadn't received the correction yet. I'd check back sometime soon to see if it goes into "pending" status. When I called last Monday, it was still "problem status.". I'll call back tomorrow morning and try and find out more. EDIT: Called today...damn office is closed. Still think people are overly paranoid about this hurricane... |

My dealer have had examiner call him back on a Sunday to fix an error so they are there, person answering phone isn't aka front office. |

Most of the examiners work from home three or four days a week. It really does increase their productivity, and yes, they approve forms at night, on weekends and on holidays. |

Would never have expected Government employees (aside from TSA, military, etc.) to work on weekends, especially when an office closes... |

Called again today. They have no record of having received the photos. Either the seller never sent them, the post office or someone lost them, or the branch lost track of them. So I have a direct number to a person that can help and he can receive the pictures via email. I will call the seller and get him to email them or something.
I hear the argument all the time about not calling the branch to check status because it's obnoxious, slows them down, etc. blah blah. You know what? If people like me didn't call in situations like this, we'd never get anywhere. And as a matter of fact, the application probably would be cancelled if those pictures dont he here on the next few days. EDIT: got in touch with the seller and the pictures are now confirmed to be in the hands of the NFA branch. Now, I wait... |
