Is it acceptable to include an assignment sheet instead of a Schedule A? I keep getting conflicting information regarding the requirement. Some say you must have a schedule A, some say you should not include a Schedule A because legally it's not required and it provides a list of property that may not all be NFA related. No I have been reading that some people are sending an assignment sheet instead... I am becoming confused. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

You must have your trust done by the gun trust lawyer. He stated an assignment is enough and that's how I sent mine. I will included both a schedule A and an assignment page with my next form 1. They can toss out the one they don't like at the ATF.

Does your trust list/mention a Schedule A in the Declaration of Trust?  If so, you need to include any schedules listed when you mail your paperwork.  If no schedules are mentioned, nothing is required, though it wouldn't hurt to send an Assignment of Property.  You never know when an examiner will get a hair up their butt.

Quicken trust?  It's a way to keep track of the property owned by the trust, but AFAIK, it isn't legally required unless mentioned in the declaration of trust.

I have a Schedule A and whenever I do a form 4 transfer, my dealer wants me to include it so I do.

What's the difference in the two? I've only seen an example of a Schedule A. As a matter of fact my forms got put in problem status because I hadn't included a copy of my Schedule A.

my understanding is Schedule A defines what the Trust owns.

Assignment of Property is the transfer of items without a Certificate of Title to the Trust.  If you have property with a Certificate of Title, the Trust name has to be listed as the owner and that can be used instead of Assignment of Property.

thats my understanding of the law speak. I sent only the Schedule A.
