I'm not sure if some of you were following my threads about the  missing Form 1. I'll sum it up for those who haven't. Basically Form 1 approved on Jan 26th never showed up, I had to wait a month to request a certified copy, They received copy but cannot locate Original Form1 so they asked me to fax and submit another Form 1, Then they couldn't locate my re-submitted copies so I had to submit them again. Finally the Hard Copy I mailed to them showed up and got sent back. So what took initially took 5 months is now at 7 months. But I'm just relieved it here and I can start my build.

Hopefully you'll be able to see the certified copy seal when I make photocopies of it.

No suprise this is from Chris Farris IMO, one of the slowest examiners at ATF and now losing paperwork...  She used to be double the time of a "good" examiner before the changeup and it looks like they all have been given orders recently to just go as slow as her.....

I got a letter in the mail from her almost a YEAR (Aug 2011) after I received my approved Form 1 for a SBS (Sept 2010).  It was one of those standard correction letters, she used the blank space part and put in, "Please call about approval date on a Fm.1, 304-616-45XX, Thx."

She did give me her direct line number.  I called back and left a message telling her the only Form 1 I have with SN XXXX with Approval Date, and left my phone number for her to call back if needed.  Never did hear back from her.

The most important part of my situation that people need to pay attention to, is that the ONLY proof you have is your orginal approved Form with the stamp.

It has been noted in the past that the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record (NFTR) is not 100% accurate.

Crapy thing is mine doesn't have a stamp on it. Its a certified copy so it just has her signature and its marked approved.

I hope it doesn't happen to me AGAIN also. I still have 3 more F4's pending and I'm gonna send another next month. When I mailed her the copy I listed my other pending items and I asked if she could expedite them since she was already working on my stuff. Hopefully she does a nice gesture and approves one or all before 6 months.
