| If I were to buy an SBR with a suppressor already attached would I have to pay the $200 tax once or would I have to pay the $200 tax for both the suppressor and the SBR even though both were purchased as a single item making the tax $400? |

Cool... was trying to beat the system haha. Also... its embarrassing to admit and its something that is no longer really relevant to my life but it's something that I am going to have to live with. When I was younger I did some stupid stuff and ended up with a misdemeanor drug charge (poss of a lev I, II, or III controlled substance) and I was wondering if that would cause me to get denied when applying for the suppressor or SBR? I hope it doesn't but I definitely don't feel entitled to these items and understand that sometimes you have to live with the consequences of the dumb shit you have done in the past. As long as you can pass a background check to buy a firearm, I don't believe there is any reason that you should be denied NFA tax stamps. But I'm not attorney and I don't play one on TV, so I'm not 100%. |

I know Gemtech was working on a 22LR suppressor that was designed to be perm-pinned, no idea if that was ever completed.
I wouldn't purchase the SBR and can at the same time. But if you have the money, and in a hurry - that's a different story. I would SBR the rifle this year, and next year I would purchase the can. That's just me though. |

Unfortunately you can't really beat the system with NFA taxes. There are plenty of 2 stamp weapons and some like AAC's honeybadger is a 3 stamp due to a baffle separate of the can, IIRC.
Rule of thumb, if you can purchase a handgun from a dealer you can get an NFA item. |

SBR = $200 Silencer = $200 If the silencer is permanently attached to a firearm such that it is not an SBR, then it is not an SBR so only $200 for Silencer. Example, you have a 6 inch silencer welded onto a 11.5 inch bbl. The BBL is now 17.5 inches and if OAL is good, is not an SBR anymore. |

Quoted: If I am military can I get around that waiting period somehow? I have a crap ton of background checks done already and I'm still sitting in queue same as having a DOD security clearance and going to work for the DOJ - they have to re-clear you..... think of it that way
