So I have a Form 4 on a Trust that went pending on December 15th with Chris Ferris.  I called nearly a month ago and it had gone into problem status, which is good because it means it finally made its way onto her desk.  I asked to speak with the examiner and I got Chris Ferris on the phone.  She was working from home and explained she had a question regarding something on my trust.  I called her the next week and her question was considering the Schedule of Beneficiaries.  When thumbing through the copy she had of my Trust she found the page, as I was sure it was sent with it.  She said that should answer her question.  Then she said she should be able to have it out soon.

I called about a week later and it was still in problem status.  I eventually reached her and got the same question.  Once again, she said that should do it and she'd have it out for me.  Next week I called, once again.  Same thing.  This has gone on now for over a month and every time I get her she has the same question and I'm always told she'll have it out for me and never does.

Something about this sounds fishy.  She'll often tell me she wants to run it past her supervisor just to make sure it's OK but always says she'll have it out later that week.  We went through this on Wednesday of last week and, if I call next Wednesday, I'm fully expecting to get the same story.  Every time I get her we go through this.  She asks the same question, she says, "Oh, OK, I should have this out for you this week," but never does.  Is she stalling for a reason?  Is there something more going on here that she's covering for and not telling me?  Is she' cooridinating with Federal Marshalls to have them kick in my door or something?  The Form 4 I did a year or so ago with Sandra Snook went through fine, although it took forever.  Anybody with any insight here?

Have you asked her why she tells you the same thing over and over?

Are you kidding?  I don't want to do anything to aggetate these people.  I'm as overly polite and cordial as I can be with them when I call.  I still have a suspicion that it could just be based on incompetence.  She does seem to "work" from home a lot and this is one of those jobs I don't see how you could possibly be too effective at when working from home.  Kinda hard to be organized and look over documentation when you don't even have access to it half the time.

I would ask to speak to Ted Clutter. Tell him your story and see what happens. It's already a long wait, but it is not reasonable to drag it out after you spoke to your examiner. I also have Christina Farris... Wonderful.

Ask to talk to her supervisor. They are there for a reason.

I went pending with her about the same time you did and got mine back almost a month ago already.

Another reason I do individual. fewer ways to have "problems"

I haven't had a single issue with my trust. First six stamps went door to door in under 90 days. Christina Farris is horrible. It took nearly five months door to door for a form 1 using the same trust.

+1.  Chris Farris is terrible.  Awfully terrible.  Form 3s with her are taking 8+ weeks.  And yes, most of the Sr. Examiners work from home.

Meh. To each their own. I had three "problem" statuses with shippman and personal transfers. Over 12 transfers. So far I've got 8 with my trust, and I have had no issues with any of them.

So I took some advice here and have left a message with Ted Clutter.  Let's see if I can get anything resolved.  I usually call on Wednesdays and, just as I expected, I'm still in problem status.  At this point, I don't have any reason to believe this will ever get resolved if I simply wait for her to get what she needs and approve my transfer.

Good luck and keep us posted. I called Monday... Still pending. (not in problem status). I'm fine until June, then it will be 90 days pending.

My last name starts with 'T' and I'm really hoping she's not the assigned examiner for that letter because I want to send in at least one Form 1.  I left a message with Ted Clutter and he left one back (don't know how I didn't hear my cell phone ring).  He explained he didn't have my serial number or file in his queue and that it was likely assigned to one of his examiners.  No kiddin'.  I explained that in the voicemail that I called her several times and, each time, was told that should be all she needs.  I honestly don't think she ever plans on doing anything with this file.  Maybe because I've called and spoken to her once a week she simply puts my file on the bottom of her stack?  This is frustrating as hell and I'm getting the run around.  It's what makes me not even want to bother with this process a third time.

So I called, once again, this morning and Ms. Ferris called me back.  I didn't even bother to check on the status with the front desk people as I already knew what the status was.  Left her a message and she called back to tell me the Trust and the Form 4 were approved yesterday.  Holy crap, looks like this stamp is gonna come my way after all!

She probably sent the trust into Counsel to review, where it sat in limbo-land.  They usually will not tell you that your trust is being reviewed by counsel.

Congrats! Maybe she got sick and tired of talking to you and her little "to the bottom of the stack you go!" game got old so she threw a stamp on there.
