| Just getting ready to submit everything for the Form 1. I constantly shoot and would like to shoot this gun in another state that allows SBR's. How should I address this with form 5320.20? What is the process, just submit it for months at a time? |

You can get them approved for 12 months at a time. Once you are get approved for a state, you can go anywhere in that state with your approved items. |

What about traveling through a state? For example. I live in GA and want to go to NC. To get there I have to go through SC. Can I go through there?
Also wife wants to spend a night at the beach in SC. Does that mean I need one for SC too? And lastly what is the processing time for the form? |

IIRC, you don't need one to transport it through an area. But if you plan to make any stop then yes, do the form 20. |

Also, if you are only going THROUGH, you can pass through a state where the item is not allowed, but you're not allowed to make extended stops. (ie, overnight) The processing time USUALLY runs about 2 weeks, but it can go way longer. You can get your travel form approved to be good for up to a year at a time. I would recommend submitting it as soon as possible. Hate for you to get held up. |
