So I really want to get into NFA, and I would like to be able to share the NFA toys with my father.

now,

My dad lives in Texas, right now I'm in Wisconsin both are NFA friendly states.

If we are both on the trust, and I have the forms for moving between state lines together I assume I can go to Texas with the NFA stuff and shoot and be fine.

Now, If I get a job in a non-friendly NFA state, or perhaps serve in the military, can my dad then take possession of the NFA items in Texas?

TLDR, My dad is more stable in life than I am, and If I have to move I want him to be able to take possession of a Trust's NFA items, he of course would be named on the trust.

Yes to all of your questions. You just fill out 5320.20's to reflect the moves, whether temporary or permanent.

Yeah, in WI you can set up your trust with out of state trustees and/or assets.  It's no different than vacation property.

EDIT: well, of course it's different b/c of the movement notification to the ATF, but I mean as far as the trust itself you're golden.

I forgot to ask another kinda important part.

Could my dad down in Texas add NFA items to the trust? Even if it were initially setup in WI?

You just need that to be a power of the trustees as outlined in the declaration; i.e., trustees can purchase property on behalf of the trust.  You can give the trustees whatever abilities you want to, really.
