I am looking at setting up a trust to purchase and build NFA firearms, but I am curious, and a little worried, about the cost involved in setting one up. Is there anyone here that can give a general estimate on how much I am looking at?

You need to find a lawyer in your own state.

The ones I know of here in Florida build you a bulletproof trust tailored to NFA ownership, and charge in the $350-$400 range.

Davis Basta Law.  $195 start to finish.  All you'll need is a notary to complete.  The process couldn't have been easier and took two days.

Oh damn, sorry about that.  I should have realized that when I posted.  Well, for any future Florida resident interested, I highly recommend Davis Basta law.  Easy as pie.

Thanks a lot for the info. Although I currently am not thinking about getting enough NFA items to warrant the cost of a trust, it does leave me with some options down the road. Thanks again for your help.

There's cheap & possibly valid vs expensive & bulletproof.
But you're in TN and IIRC TN law *requires* the sheriff sign your NFA forms within a set time period, no trust needed.

MS Auto Arms charges 200 dollars even. The owner, Nathan, is a lawyer so he does it all in-house.  Don't know about being able to do TN though. But Nathan is a good guy and can surely find someone for ya.
