BATFE Form 1 > General NFA Questions

I sent my Form 1 a month ago and decided to call the BATFE yesterday just to make sure that I was put into their system. They told me not yet. I would have though that I would at least have been put in line by now.

It looks like it's been taking about 2 1/2-3 months for them just to go pending and then another 2-3 weeks after that for approval.

They are running SLOW, again. Got a personal purchase a couple years ago in less than a month, now they are taking longer for SOT to SOT transfers than that!

I've had one I submitted on 2-15, still hasn't come back.

I just got my form 1 in the mail today.

I mailed it on 1/27, check was cashed on 2/6, and it was approved on 3/27.

It was for a SBR under a corp.

Be patient, it will come.

Though I do know mine went pending on April 28, so we are almost there.

I sent in a Form-1 about a year ago. I called a week after they cashed my check. and they said it wasn't in the system yet. I told the lady on the phone that I had hoped it would be in the system by now and gave her the date my check was cashed. She started telling me in what seemed a rehearsed response the it would probably be another month or so before it went pending. I could hear papers shuffling in the background. Two days later I had my approved Form-1 in the mailbox.

Maybe if people stop calling every week checking the status of their forms, they'll be able to work faster and get more forms done.

Just a thought.

It took about 90 days for each of mine to come back, submitted on 05JAN09 and 20JAN09

The mailman left me a present today, I got my tax stamp. I finally get to put my SBR together and go sight it in.

Sent 4.1.09
Pending 6.5.09
Approved 7.10.09
Received 7.13.09

Mine took two months to go pending and another 2.5 months to get approved.
