Hello everyone!!

I'm new to this site and happy to be here! I've been searching but can't seem to find the answer that I need and was wondering if any of you have gone thru the same ordeal or know how to go about solving this.

I recently purchased a Sig 556 pistol with intensions of building a SBR. After obtaining all the paperwork to get started I come to find that my CLEO who is the county sheriff refuses to sign any NFA papers.

The only route I can take to build my SBR is to go thru a trust. However I have absolutly no idea of how to draft one up with NFA guide lines in it and I don't have unlimited amounts of cash to give a lawyer.

So I guess my inquiry would be how much does the average NFA trust cost? And can I go to just any lawyer? Or does any one know of a place online where I can see a proper draft of an NFA trust (minus names and serial #'s... etc) so I can get a better idea of what I'm doing??

I know this is alot for a neewbie in the neighborhood to be asking of everyone but I'm at a dead end here. All help will be greatly appreciated!!!

 Thanks!

a trust can be as cheap as quicken willmaker or as expensive as a lawyer.in the middle are websites like livingtrustsontheweb.com or other similar sites which allow you to do it online.

if you can't afford to have a lawyer draft a trust for you i would try to find someone local to "walk" you through the steps of creating one with quicken or similar software.it's really not that complicated or expensive but a revocable living trust is a legal entity so be careful how it's drafted.

good luck and have patience,it's worth it in the end.

my form 1 went pending on feb. 26th for my 556p sbr build.

FWIW, in Florida at least, an attorney who is NFA-savvy and experienced will build you a bulletproof trust for $350-$450. I know of Texas attorneys equally experienced who charge the same. Don't know anyone in Ohio, tho.
