I found out recently that DD's are legal here (most Class-3 is not), and was looking at the Striker-12/Streetsweeper shotgun ads on Gunbroker–– I can remember when these were Title-1 firearms, and many have the 18" barrels. Since they are now DD's, would there be any further penalty in shortening the barrel of one of these? Just curious, mostly–– Class-3 stuff is scarce here, and there is much misinformation. Thanks in advance!

Yes, you can shorten the barrel of a registered DD without any problems.  You might want to notify the BATFE that you've shortened the barrel.

Something to research:  a streetsweeper (even though considered a DD by the feds) might, if the barrel is shortened, become a forbidden short barreled shotgun in the eyes of WA statutes.

Good point–– I'll look into that. Thanks!

As a fellow human being and connoisseur of quality I would highly discourage spending any money on a streetsweeper.  Find something else ohgod.   This is of course assuming you're not a neckbearded wannabe gangsta who wants to take pictures of yourself holding it, in which case by all means go for it.  I mean this with the utmost respect.

No, no, I had no intention of buying one–– it was looking at the ads that made me realize I didn't know the answer to the question. I appreciate the advice, though.
