I was reading the FAQ's here, and had a few questions regarding the Form 1 and overall procedure that go beyond what I read in the SBR FAQ.
To clarify, I am not an FFL. Can I still register a lower and make an SBR after a cancelled tax stamp is received by submitting Form 1? Do I need to put my employer identification number on the form or is this only for FFLs? Also, I read the FAQ's found here starting with M1: http://www.atf.gov/firearms/faq/faq2.htm#m1 It does not clearly answer the question about if you can legally obtain ANY PARTS BESIDES the stripped lower (for serial number registration) prior to receiving the cancelled tax stamp to allow for a private citizen NFA build. It is my understanding that you cannot make an NFA firearm without having a cancelled stamp. Can you obtain ANY PARTS WHATSOEVER besides the stripped lower prior to receiving approval? I want to make sure I perform this process legally, so please advise. |
