| I just sent in my form for a FA. I sent in a single copy. I then read on another form to send it in in duplicate. Did I just botch it, or will it still go through? |

Your dealer should have helped you... He had to sign the Form 4's and he didn't say anything about sending everything in duplicate? Or did you have 2 Form 4s but only sent in 1?
The answer is yes, everything is done in duplicate, except the Certificate of Compliance. You may want to call your examiner and explain what happened, you may be able to mail the other Form 4 directly to your examiner and it won't hold up anything. |

If you are talking about the application itself (Form 1 or Form 4), they keep one copy in their files and send the other one back to you –– it's your proof of registration.
They are not going to send the only copy back to you. So yes, you are going to need to submit a second, ink-signed copy.

Call ATF in WV, and explain your problem to the person who answered the phone.. ask for help from a supervisor, and ask them to help with remedy of your error.
If it was me, I would e-mail Rob.Howard at atf.gov as a start (assuming the address is correct, you'll know if it bounce), and explain that you only sent the 1 form in the mail, and need to have the examiner hold for the 2nd form to arrive,,, and let him reply back.. |
