I'm looking for a cheap but durable SxS 12 oe 20 ga shotgun to SBS.  I also need some pointers on how to chop the bbl.  In it's factory configuration is has that piece of metal at the muzzle keeping the bbl's together.  When you cut it down, how do you replace this so that the bbl's aren't weak?  If you didn't do all of this yourself, who did you send it off to?

I've already done one form1 and 2 form 4's some I'm already familiar with all the legalities of the process.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

Some SxS’s have the barrel rib welded the entire length…which ones…no idea.  With that said the front piece is just a wedge that “sights” the barrels.  Since your talking about SBSing it I don’t think your too interested in the pattern nor how close the barrels are sighted together.  What you could probably do is measure the width of the barrels at the location of the cut, after you get the paper work, cut the barrel and if needed put a wedge in and solder/weld in place.
