What is the shortest length of barrel that I can have without doing paperwork in Tennessee?  I think my answer is 16", but thought I would ask just in case.  Also, is the form 1 the only thing that I have to fill out to have a shorter barrel and is it something that costs to get like the suppressor stamp?  Thanks

16", so yes and yes.  Search the boards for info.  There is plenty of it to help get you started.  There is companion paperwork that needs to be filled out and submitted with each Form 1, as well as a $200 tax.

18" for a shotgun, 16" for a rifle. 26" overall for either one.

Here's a question along similar lines.  On the Form 1, there's a discription of the firearm including overall length.  Does this mean you can NOT change out uppers on your NFA registered firearms?
