I'm kind of P.O'ed about this. I want a 14.5" barrel, but of coarse you have to register it as NFA. Why is this? Is it because it can be concealed, if so then why can't you just have a concealed carry license. I find this outrageously retarded, just because I want to have an 1 and a 1/2 inches off the barrel. I don't care about owning suppressors or machine guns and I suppose I understand why you have to have a NFA permit for those. Your aloud to have a pistol but you can't have a 14.5" barrel that is freaking retarded for the Hassle I am going to have to go through to get something that is 14.5". Sorry for the rant I just feel like my constitution has been violated especially since i serve our military. How Rude. A.Phelps |

why don't you just get a 14.5inch barrel and permanently attach a flash hider? I'm guessing you want an M4 clone? CMMG makes a 14.7 inch barrel which if you perm an A2 flash hider to, it brings it over 16"... or there's a company that makes an extended A2 flash hider, don't know the name though. or there's a slew of aftermarket ones that are long enough... or, someone made one by cutting one in half, and welding it together, making it long enough...(saw it in the ADCO forums, they might be able to help you) all help aside, the rant was a 5 out of 10 with not enough swearing...just kidding, i hope you can get squared away. |

Yeah, I'm just irratated at the simple fact I have to go through some HOOPS in order to get the NFA. For one I live in Kentucky and my Ultra Awesome Gun Safe (Browning) is an Indiana at my fiance's house. I have to figure out how I'm going to pull that one off, and no I am not spending another $200.00 dollars to get her a NFA when she doesn't even know the combination. I have to wait for the forms to come in, and then I guess I have to go over to her county and get the head of police to sign for it. Then I have to actually find a Class 3 dealer so they can send them the gun and of coarse it has to be in Indiana, and the closest Class 3 dealer is an hour and forty five minutes away from my house. So yeah I'm pissed. Goverment and their stupid rules, Some I can understand but this one is just obviously flawed and retarded. A.Phelps |

Well, if you're dead set on a C3, you don't need to go through a C3 dealer...all that you have to do is... 1.) Buy a stripped lower 2.) engrave said lower at any local trophy shop or even send it off to somewhere like orion-arms.com 3.) go to here fill out this information. Put SBR, and all the information of said stripped lower that you have or are going to get. 4.) get forms signed, passport photos, fingerprinted (not needed if going the trust route) 5.) send in your packet and wait a plus about SBRing a lower, is that once the paperwork is filled out, you don't really have to stick with 14.5inches of barrel, if you feel like it, you can go as short as you want and all that you have to do is push out two pins to change it up. |

Considered the Trust route for later if you want Class III stuff? That said, if you just want a 14.5" M4 barrel - CMMG 14.5" with Sabre Extende A2 hider (or YHM Phantom, SEI G6A2, VLTOR VC-1) or CMMG14.7" with A2 hider. Pinned and welded you have that setup and don't have to mess with any of the other nonsense. THIS is the easy, practical way. I'm in a similar boat, so went with a 14.5" M4A1 CMMG barrel with SEI Vortex. My wife's is a 14.7" CMMG Lightweight with A2 hider. Both are great looking guns, and fit the M4 look. With the 16"OAL, my wife was able to buy one of those while I was stationed out of state, much better. |
Care to explain an NFA firearms trust for the uninformed? |
Let me ask you this, If I bought the upper, and put this "hider" on, which I can't find any on gunbroker so you may have to direct me to a site. I do know that the 16" barrels you can't take them off because they are welded, would I be able to on the 14.5 I have heard you can. Also do I have to weld it on just in case I want to get that trust that I have been reading about. I want the LMT 14.5 upper. Just get back to me when you can thanks! |
if you don't want to register it as an nfa weapon, just buy your lmt 14.5 inch upper, send it to ADCO, and then get this service done...perm a flash hider this will give you a legal barrel and keep you from having to do any extra work. |
Kavon, I just wanted to let you know I absolutely appreciate your help, and thank you for being very helpful. Thank you Aaron Phelps |
