A while back a customer came in the shop asking for a copy of my FFL and SOT. The other day I'm going through my mail, and in a flimsy standard (not padded) manila envelope, sent priority mail uninsured, from CO to OH, sandwitched between 1 piece of taped together bubble wrap was a DIAS and a copy of the Form 4. WTF kinda moron wont spend more than $5.25 to ship a $13K part? |

I am assuming the customer was asking for your paperwork to have the item shipped to you for transfer from a dealer? That |
i agee that this would be funny but how do you know the buyer had any idea that the cheap ass dealer was going to send it like that? i would contact the dealer and tell them you were going to contact the atf about a missing sear. i bet he wont make that mistake again. |

Well it's my DIAS so I'll weigh in and clarify a few things. I bought it from a dealer in Missouri, who was brokering it for a guy in Colorado. I only spoke to the dealer who was listing it. I never spoke to the guy that actually owned the sear. It pisses me off that after I pay him almost 13K he can't spend a little more and ship it right. If he was that hard up for money I would have gladly paid to have the damn thing packed and shipped properly. I'm still pissed about the whole transaction, but on the other hand I finally got my first MG. Oh, and a big thank you to the guys at ADCO. They are a great bunch of folks to deal with. |
I know that but it's agains't the law.

Although that RDIAS is registered and considered a machinegun, I am almost positive it's not considered an actual firearm. It cannot "use gunpowder to fire... blah blah blah." It just goes without saying you don't put words like "firearms" "guns" "drugs" "birthday cash" etc. on your envelopes or packages. You don't have to know the laws to not be stupid like this fool was. |
It most certainly is a firearm according to NFA. In fact, a silencer is a "firearm" according to NFA. You are thinking of the definition for a Title 1 firearm. And that is not a postal regulation, it is federal law. |
Eh, not a firearm, you don't have to ask permission to cross state lines with it, because it isn't. |
Tell that to the examiner who signed my 5320.20 |
| A suppressor is a firearm according to 18 USC 921 and 26 USC 5845. A 5320.20 isn't required for a suppressor or an AOW however. |
I was speaking of the DIAS. However, my suppressor is on my 5320, approved for travel even though not required. |
You ought to forward that info on to big green then, every Remington long gun I've ever delivered not only had their big logo plastered on the box but they also have the exact model and even the serial number(s) on them. |
