If I purchase an SBR directly from the manufacturer, is the transferor the manufacturer or my local class 3 dealer (who performs the transfer)? Thank you. |

The manufacturer is the transferor on the Form 3 used to initially transfer the SBR to your dealer. Then your dealer becomes the transferor on the Form 4 from the dealer to you. If the manufacturer were located in the same state as you are, he could transfer it directly to you on a Form 4 without involving a dealer. In that case only, the transferor on the Form 4 would be the manufacturer. |
