Once I SBR my AR, do I kill its modularity?  Can I take my 10.3" upper off and slap pn my 16" upper when I want?  Can I go from my 10.3" 55.6 upper to a 11" 9mm upper?

Nope, just as long as you can return it to the status on the paperwork, you are good to go.

Now, if you intend to keep it a different way most of the time, it may be a good idea to send a letter to the ATF informing them of caliber/OAL/Barrel Length/etc change.

BTW, just in case you didnt know, there is no extra cost associated with telling the BATFE you're changing the configuration permenantly.

You can swap uppers, etc.  I store mine with the listed barrel length/caliber upper attached, since that is its "primary" configuration.

Keep in mind that putting a 16"+ upper on it DOES NOT mean you can transport across state lines without a 5320.20, etc.  It's still a SBR and all laws still apply.
