| I'll just ask this here since these things come up from time to time. Can A corporation hold an FFL or is this only available to individuals? |
|
Of course corporations can hold an FFL. That's how Academy Sports, Bass Pro, Gander Mtn, ETC. can buy and sell guns. They must have one for thier distribution center and then one for each store. Wal-Mart is in the process of losing theirs, thats why you are starting to see guns in less and less of them. ETA: Its actually nearly impossible these days for an individual to hold a type 01 FFL without owning a business that sells firearms. |
| Correct. Both individuals and corporations can hold FFL's. However nowadays, before ATF approves a new FFL, they want to see a retail store or some other type of legitimate commercial place of business (zoned, hours of operation, etc...). No more guys just selling out of their house. |
I do business with 3 diffeent FFL's that deal out of their house. |
I didn't say those guys don't exist. Plenty of them still do. I said that the current ATF policy for approving NEW FFL's is that they want to see a commercial business place. |
