I'm pondering a move from NY into a CIII state.  What are some of the "cheaper" machineguns that can be LEGALLY transfered once/if I make the move?

Also, what would an MP5, M16 and a DIAS cost?

Dias:  $8K and up
M16:  $10K and up
MP5:  15K and up

About the cheapest I see anymore are Mac's.  They go for around 3K.  A Vector Uzi is in the 6K range.  Riesings used to be around $4500 but I haven't seen one for a bit (haven't really been looking).

I think MAC's are getting closer to 4K.

There's been one on the EE (Mac 10) that the seller has come down to $3000 on.  That's probably the exception but shows deals can still be found.

I was too slow on a NIB Mac 11 18 months ago that the seller wanted $1800 for.

Where? It seems more like 10-12k

Lightning Links are the cheapest way to get into FA AR-15s.  Their main disadvantage is that there is no .22lr upper that will work with them.
They are ~$7.5 - $8k.
DIAS-$12-13k
Converted RR - ~$10k
M16RR - $13k+

Ruger AC556's are in the $5k-6k range, depending on barrel length and whether they are folders.

FNCs are $7k-7.5k.

You can still get a belt fed (Maxim 08/15) for under $10K if you look around.

actually Tony I have yet to see a Ruger AC-556 for less than 6.5K for the regular stock guns and sometimes if you see sites like David Spiwak's site he wants almost 7.7K for some of his factory folders.

I guess maybe they are out there if you look hard enough but I have yet to find one (regular or folder) for under 6.5K and no more than 7.5K

Reisings are not too expensive and are C&R

yeah your right... subguns does have some some decent deals for sure.  Which is exactly why you want to buy from an individual and not a dealer.  Show me a dealer that offers an AC for under 6.5K?  Probobly wont find one.  But an individual will have some much better deals.  Hell I got mine back in the summer (AC with factory folder) for 3K total from a guy at work.  He just wanted to offload it.  Those ACs on subguns are the regular stock guns too.  The Factory folders will draw in a little more.

Easily the best bang for the buck is a M11/9 with a Lage upper.

Total cost somewhere between $4,000 (if you're really lucky) to $5,000 with all the bells and whistles.

Next best deal would be a Reising for about $5,000, but the M11/9 has a ton of aftermarket accessories that make it a better overall choice unless you want a C&R.

It is tough to find an MP5 for less than $17,000 it seems

There was a dealer in Fairbanks AK. that had an m16 w/10.5" upper with a can on it for $10.5k in apr. this year.  If I lived up there I would have sold a kidney to get it.  It was pretty wierd for me to see NFA guns at gunshows (on a college campus even!)
